About Us
The
"A Gift Of Heart" support group was formed in September 1999, and is dedicated to the memory of heart recipient and co-founder Linda de Beaumont, whose inspired leadership brought an important resource to Orange County.
Our group's mission is to provide support, compassion and understanding to those in our community who have been touched by organ donation, either as organ donors, donor families, transplant recipients or those who wait for their donor angel to arrive ....
By a sharing of ideas and experience, our group hopes to ease the difficulties and challenges of organ donation and transplant surgery and recovery. We:
- Celebrate and honor the lives of donors and their families who have given their "Gift of Life" thereby saving the lives of others.
- Seek to bring comfort to one another through the discussion of shared insights, to have empathy and gain new understanding by hearing from those whose life stories differ from our own.
- Strive to inspire the community to make a difference in the lives of others through transplant advocacy, public awareness and education so people can make informed decisions regarding organ donation.
